Carolyn Oberst started her yoga practice in 1976 and has been teaching since 1981, having studied and trained with many teachers and various styles over the years including Iyengar, Jivamukti, Anasuara and Ashtanga yoga. Her extensive teacher training also includes training in Restorative yoga with Judith Lasater and Jillian Pransky. In addition, she has studied Reiki, herbal healing, meditation, and metaphysics as applied to healing techniques.
Given her background and experience Carolyn has created a method of teaching which allows students to develop a yoga practice that works specifically for them. She has helped with people with all sorts of injuries, various chronic ailments, and other health issues.
While teaching classes and studying yoga, Carolyn is also an artist. In art school, she became interested in meditation and yoga methods of improving her concentration and stamina. She has since developed techniques to combine yoga and the stimulation of creativity as outlined in her article in Yoga Fit Magazine, "Yoga for the Creative Soul".
She has had one-person, two-person, and been included in many group shows. Her work is in both corporate and private collections.
